Description

House. Late C17 with earlier origins, and 1736. Cruck framed. Coursed ironstone rubble, thatch roof, brick end and ridge stacks, that to left end on stone base. 3-unit through passage plan. 2-storey, 3-window range. C20 door with straight hood to right of centre. 2-light C20 casements to ground floor with stop-chamfered lintels; small square window to far left. 3-light C20 windows to first floor in eyebrow dormers. Wing to rear left with datestone inscribed IP 1736. Interior has stop-chamfered spine beams, 2 open fireplaces, one with chamfered bressumer, the other with cambered ogee-stop-chamfered bressumer, full cruck truss with saddle and possible smoke blackening, suggesting open hall.
