Description
Wall and gatepier. Early C20 by Sir Reginald Blomfield for Leonard Brassey later Baron Brassey. Limestone ashlar gatepier and squared coursed limestone wall. Gatepier has obelisk with swags and ball finial. The forecourt was originally the gravel garden of the early C18. The wall and gatepier form part of the forecourt layout to Apethorpe Hall with Apethorpe Hall (q.v.) and walls, gatepiers and attached gates attached to and extending approximately 40 metres east of East front of Apethorpe Hall q.v.).
