Description

Former Sun Hotel, interesting design in variation of Jacobean style by Kettering architect J A Gotch. Circa 1894. Red brick, tiled roof with 5 gables interspersed with polygonal chimneystacks corbelled at 1st floor window level. 3 storeys, 1:2:2:1:1 mullioned and transomed 2 light casement windows to upper floors. Similar ground floor windows, 2 with arched lights. 1st floor band and sill band. Cornice mouldings over lintels. Moulded eaves band. See The British Architect, 24.8.1894.
