Description
House. C17, remodelled early C19. Squared coursed ironstone, tile roof, rendered stack to right of centre. 2 storeys and attic; 6 bays. Entrance in third bay from left has stone 4-centred arch and 6-panel double door with overlight. Two 2-light stone-mullioned windows with square hoods to left. 3 similar windows to right (that in second bay from right is blocked); 2-light windows with moulded stone frames and stone-mullions to first floor. Those in 2 left bays and second bay from right are blocked. C19 gabled attic dormer. Coped gable ends with kneelers. Early C19 sash windows with square hoods on left side. Wing projecting forward from right side at rear, C17, similar materials. C19 French window with square stone hood on ground floor and 2-light stone-mullioned windows to first floor and attic. C17 dormer with shaped gable to main block at rear. Ground and first floors hidden by C19 brick extensions. Interior: remodelled early C19. Ceilings have ornamental plaster borders of this date. Ground floor room has C17 stone fireplace with moulded 4-centred arch. Doorway to kitchen at rear has C17 moulded wood frame with stop chamfered jambs and old studded plank door. Similar doorway to corridor on the ground floor.
