Description

Shown as Bank Cottage on Ordnance Survey map. 5 houses now 2 dwellings. Early C19. Squared coursed limestone with ashlar dressings and Colleyweston slate roof. Originally each probably one-unit plan, forming an L-shape range. 6-window range of leaded casements. Those to far right are under gauged stone heads with ashlar surrounds, others are under wood lintels. First floor window to far right is blind. 4-panel door, with rectangular fanlight, to far right has gauged stone head and ashlar surround. Ashlar gable parapets and rebuilt brick stacks at ridge and end. 3-window range to left is Barn Cottage. Similar to main front with 2 four-panel doors between window ranges. Interiors not inspected. Originally forming part of stable courtyard to Polebrook Hall (q.v.). (RCHM: An Inventory of Architectural Monuments in North Northamptonshire: p136)
