Description
Cottage. C18, remodelled in Gothick style late C18/early C19. Coursed squared ironstone, asbestos tile roof, brick end stacks. One-unit plan. 2-storey, one-window range. Plank door with timber lintel in single-storey wing to left with lean-to slate roof. Symmetrical wing to right side has blocked door with timber lintel. Gabled centre has 2-light casement windows to ground and first floors with pointed arch heads, and frames imitating Y-tracery. Later single-storey extension to rear. Interior has open fireplace with chamfered bressumer and stop-chamfered spine beam. Formerly the gate-keeper's cottage for gate to lane which runs past front of cottage. The post from which the gate hung still survives on opposite side of road.
