Description

Consists of 4 distinct houses. The 1st:- early C18. 2 storeys in coursed dressed stone with stone slate roof more or less in line with No 2, 2 hipped dormers, 4 windows to 1st floor. Entrance second opening from R.H. end. Windows late casements, wooden lintels. The 2nd house:- built circa 1700. Low building of 2 storeys with steep stone slate roof, deep step down from previous house. Smaller, but also with 4 openings, similarly arranged and of same type and date. The 3rd house:- dated 1640. 1 storey and attics in ashlar with steep stone slate roof with ridge above party wall right of centre and small gabled dormer at the centre. Two 2-storey gabled bays with 5-light stone mullioned windows to both floors. Datestone on R. H.gable. Plain low doorway, deep reveals, stone lintel. The 4th house:- early C18 house of 2 storeys in coursed rubble with steep stone slate roof and 3 hipped dormers. 4 windows, C19 fenestration. Archway through west end of ground floor. Nos 1 to 13 (consec) for a group with Holy Name of Jesus Church, West Street.
