Description

Mill and mill-house, now house. Mill-house dated 1725, mill rebuilt mid-late C19; C20 alterations. Coursed limestone rubble, pantile roof, rendered end stacks. 2-unit plan with lobby entry to one end. 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range. C20 door to far left with wood lintel. Pair of 2-light casement windows to ground floor left of centre, 3-light casement to ground floor right, 2-light casements to 1st floor left and right of centre and small 1-light window to 1st floor far left, all with wood lintels. Datestone to 1st floor centre below eaves, of ironstone with hood mould and inscribed EW/1725. Ironstone-coped chamfered plinth, ironstone quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers; two C20 roof dormers. 2-storey wing to rear left. C19 3-storey, 3-window mill building to left, of brick with slate roof and segmental-arched heads to windows, is now part of house and contains no machinery. Interior of house noted as having chamfered spine beams and open fireplace with chamfered cambered bressumer.
