Description

Six Almshouses, now 2 houses. Datestone 1858. By John Wykes. Squared coursed lias with plain tiled roof. Originally each of single-unit plan. Single storey. 6-window range of stone mullions with cast iron diamond panes. Gabled porches between windows 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 from left have, 4-centred heads. Ashlar gable parapets. Ashlar and brick stacks at ridge. Central tablet has commemorative inscription to Frederick, Earl of Spencer and Georgina Elizabeth Countess Spencer. Gabled porches with 4-centred heads to left and right gable. (Buildings of England : Northamptonshire, p.150)
