Description
Four houses. Probably C17 remodelled late C18. Brick probably cruck-framed with slate roofs. Each originally one-unit plan. 2 storeys. Together comprising a 4-window range of C19 and C20 casements under shallow brick arches. No.24 has a C19 canted wooden bay. 2 pairs of C20 doors between windows. Rendered plinth below window sill and raised brick string course between floors. Brickwork below string course is probably late C17, that above is late C18. Brick stacks at ridge and end. Rear elevati :> evidence of timber framing. Only interior of No.26 inspected: Chamfered ceiling beams, an open fireplace; two C18 corner cupboards and C18 panelled doors. The dogleg staircase has an early C18 splat balustrade and at the first floor landing there is evidence of a raised cruck construction.
