Description

Manor house. Early and late C18. Squared coursed lias, now part rendered, and brick with slate roof. T-shape plan. 2 storeys with attic. Entrance front of 5-window range. Central part-glazed door has porch with open pediment supported on 2 Doric columns. Sash windows with glazing bars. Raised string course between floors and rusticated quoins. Moulded cornice and ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, roof dormers, and brick stacks at ends. Left gable has 2 single-light windows, one blocked with :> surrounds, probably reset from earlier house. Rear wing of brick is probably late C18. Interior not inspected but noted as having panelling to the Dining Room. (Buildings of England: Northamptonshire, p.451).
