Description
Farmhouse. Mid C17 and late C18/early C19. Squared coursed limestone, part with limestone ashlar façade, and Colleyweston slate roof. L-shape plan. 2 storeys with attic. Main front is 4 bays. 3-window range to left of late C18/early C19 sash windows under gauged stone heads. First floor centre window is blind. 4-panel, part-glazed, door between windows under similar head. Raised band between floors. 2 small blocked windows to right. C17 gable to far right has 4-light, ovolo-moulded, stone-mullion window, with king mullion, to first floor. 2 hipped roof dormers, with casement windows, to left hand range. Ashlar gable parapets to left and ashlar stacks at ends. Elevation to right, abutting road, is a 2-window range of 3-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows, at ground floor. 2 C19 style casements to first floor, that to left has Lincolnshire dormer head. Ashlar gable parapets with reeded kneelers and ashlar stack at end. Rear elevation has lean-to extensions. C19 two-storey, 2-bay, stable/coach house range, attached to right of rear elevation, now forms part of house and has flight of external steps to first floor. Interior: kitchen in cross wing has large open fireplace with bressumer and winder stair alongside. Some plank doors with strap hinges. Main staircase is late C18/early C19 with stick balustrade.
