Description

House. Datestone 1698. Lias ashlar with slate roof. 3-unit plan. 2 storeys with attic; symmetrical 7-window range. Central 6-panelled door under fanlight with roundels. Moulded stone surround with keystone, 2-light casement windows with moulded stone surrounds and keystones, those flanking entrance and immediately above one single light. Ashlar quoins and string course. Moulded stone cornice; ashlar gable parapets and kneelers; stone and brick stacks at ends. Datestone ECA/1698 on left gable. C19 and C20 extensions to rear. Interior: Fine central stair with quarter landings and turned balusters. Ground-floor rooms to left and right of entrance have fireplaces with bolection moulded surrounds. Open fireplace with bressumer in kitchen at rear has later corbled support brackets, first floor room to left has fireplace with Delft tiles. Trenched pulin roof structure.
