Description

House. C17, altered C19. Coursed ironstone rubble, squared quoins; slate and tile roof, brick stacks. U-plan. 2 storeys and attic, 3 bays. Doorway second bay from left has stone lintel and C19 half-glazed door with overlight; C20 stone and timber porch. Window to left has C17 square stone hood and C20 three-light wood casement. Two similar windows to right and similar windows on first floor. Roof rebuilt C19. Rear has 2-light window with stone mullion and square hood on first floor and one-light window with stone hood to left. C18 stone extension to right at rear, 2 storeys and attic, 2 bays, C19 brick extension to left, linked by verandah across main block. Interior: Remodelled C19; staircase and fireplaces c.1850. Stone built into an outbuilding has date 163(7?) and initials I.B. The house belonged to the Butler family in the C17.
