Description
House. Dated 1656, altered C19. Coursed squared ironstone, reed thatch roof, brick end and ridge stacks. 3-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic; 4-window range. Plank door to left of centre with chamfered Tudor-arched stone surround, small staircase landing window to right with moulded stone surround and lintel. 2-light casement windows to ground and 1st floor far left and to ground floor right of centre, otherwise 3-light casements to ground and 1st floors. Ground floor windows have rendered surrounds. Those to 1st floor have wood lintels except for that to right of centre which has moulded stone jambs and lintel of original stone mullion window. Gabled dormer above with 2-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion window and moulding to base of gable forming hood mould. Datestone in gable inscribed M/HP/1656. Quoins to stone-coped gables with kneelers. Interior has stop-chamfered spine beam and moulded stop-chamfered spine beams, winder stair and collar-truss roof.
