Description

Shown as Crossway Hand Farm on Ordnance Survey map. Farmhouse. Mid/late C18 restored C20. Squared coursed limestone with ashlar dressings. Double-depth plan. Part 3 storeys. 5-window range, to ground and first floor, of tall casements with plain ashlar surrounds and keyblocks. 3-window range to second floor, of similar square windows. Central, part-glazed door, has moulded stone architraves with plain frieze and triangular pediment above. Chamfered plinth, ashlar gable parapets and kneelers and ashlar stacks at ends. Sundial between windows at second floor level. Side gables have projecting chimney breasts. Rear elevation has catslide roof and one 4-light stone mullion window with unmoulded mullions. Interior not inspected but noted as having chamfered cross beams and panelled corner cupboard. (RCHM: An Inventory of Architectural Monuments in North Northamptonshire: p144)
