Description

Chest tomb. Late C18. Limestone. Stepped plinth. Bombe chest with inscriptions supporting triangular obelisk with concave sides on circular base with foliage panels in low reliefs. Obelisk topped by flame finial, formerly on top of gilded ball. Commemorates John Parkhurst, lexicographer, who died 1765. (Buildings of England: Northamptonshire, 1973, p.145).
