Description

House, now restaurant. Mid C17 with considerable C20 alterations and additions. Coursed squared ironstone, C20 plain-tile roof, brick end and ridge stacks, stone lateral stack. 3-unit plan with cross wing. 2 storeys and attic; 4-window range. Part-blocked door to right of centre with wood lintel and 1-light window. A 2-light casement window to left of door with moulded stone jambs and lintel of original stone mullion window, and 3-light casement to right with wood lintel. Pair of 2-light casements to first floor left with wood lintels, pair of ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows to 1st floor right with hood moulds, innermost window with mullion replaced by casement. Single-storey C20 extension including porch to left of centre. Cross- wing to far left, much altered C20 with gable largely rebuilt as stone lateral stack. Quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers. Interior has stop-moulded spine beams, open fireplace with stop-moulded bressumer. Front end stack of cross wing has open fireplace with stop-chamfered stone jambs. C20 extensions are not of special architectural interest.
