Description
House. Late C17/early C18, front remodelled early/mid C19; other C19 and C20 alterations. 2-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range. Ironstone ashlar, slate roof, brick end stacks. Central 6-panel door with overlight and segmental arched stone lintel. 16-pane sash windows to ground and 1st floors with similar lintels. Chamfered plinth, raised quoins, storey band and stone-coped gables with kneelers. Right gable end has 2 small blocked 1st floor windows with moulded stone sills, surrounds, and hood moulds, similar window to gable. Two 2-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows to ground and 1st floor rear left with hood moulds and C20 2-storey brick extension to rear right. Lower 2-storey attached former cottage to left, C17 with C19 and C20 alterations, now part of living accommodation of house. Coursed squared ironstone and slate roof. Pair of C20 2-light casement windows to ground floor, 3-light casement to 1st floor with wood lintel. Stone-coped gable with kneelers. Interior: chamfered spine beams and open fireplace with stop-chamfered bressumer and fitted C18 bureau in niche to right. Stone fireplace with Tudor-arched head in former cottage.
