Description
Chest tomb. Commemorates members of the Botfield family beginning with Charlotte Botfield d.1825. Grey sandstone. Low and very large rectangular chest with space for 3 plaques on long side, two on sides. Low pyramidal stone slabbed roof topped by swagged urn with oval domed top and finial signed on left side of urn base: Baseley Daventry. Stone-paved enclosure bounded by low walls and original cast-iron railings with spear finials and urns to standards. The Botfield family were Lords of the Manor from 1800-1863 and lived at Norton Hall, demolished 1945.
