Description

Probably early C18. The building has been refronted C19 in ashlar. 2 storey with steep sltone slat roof, high verges, and stone chimneys onthe gables and 1 third of way from east end. 5 hipped dormers spaced 3:2 (from West to East). There are two 2 storey slightly curved bays with an 8-light stone mullioned and transomed window to both floors. Entrance to No 43 is between the bays, modern door. The east end has a carriageway with elliptical arch and 1 sash window to ground floor. 2 windows to 1s floor, 4-light with wooden mullions and transoms. Entrance to No 43A within the yard in later extension. Nos 15 to 19 (odd) 25 and 33 to 53 (odd) form a group with Church of St Wilfred, Paine's Almhouses and Oundle Congregational Church.
