Description
Faxton End shown on O.S. map as Charles Close. Public house now house. Mid C18. Squared coursed lias with C20 concrete tiled roof. 4-unit plan. 2 storeys with attic, 4-window range; first floor of C19 casements with glazing bars, ground floor C20 casements all under wood lintels. Two C19 glazed doors between windows with C20 porches. Ashlar gable parapets with kneelers. Large central brick and stone stacks, and brick stacks at ends. Original C19 plaster public house signs to front and left gable. C20 extension to rear. Interior: Open fireplaces with chamfered bressumers to centre rooms. Chamfered ceiling beams.
