Description

House. C 1840, incorporating a late C18 north wing. Stucco with hipped slate roof. Plinth, first floor band, dentillated eaves. 3 ridge and single side wall stacks. 2 storeys, 4 bays, L-plan. Front has an off-centre latticework wooden porch covering a half-glazed door with pilastered surround. To its left, a tripartite sash, and to right a canted bay window with 3 plain sashes. Above the door a round headed sash flanked to left by an 8/12 sash and to right by a similar smaller sash. All these have moulded hoods. Beyond, to the left, a hipped 2-storey square bay window with a French window and flanking lights and above, a tripartite sash. South end has in the return angle a hipped C20 porch with plastic Doric piers, and C19 half-glazed door with geometrical overlight. Street side has rusticated basement and two 6/6 sashes with moulded hoods on each floor. Interior good mid C19 open well staircase following a curved west wall. Turned balustrade and wreathed mahogony handrail. Moulded cornices. Older kitchen wing has chamfered spine beams.
