Description

Farmhouse. Probably late C17, remodelled. Datestone 1758. Squared coursed lias with ashlar dressings and slate roof. L-shaped plan. 2 storeys with attic. Main front, 3-window range of C19 tripartite sashes, in original openings, under flat arch heads with keystones. Central sash is plain. Central C19 panelled door with moulded wood surround and early C20 porch. Ashlar string course and moulded stone cornice. Ashlar gable parapets and kneelers. Ashlar stacks at ridge and end. Datestone in left gable. Rear gable has arch headed window. Interior: Early C19 fireplace surround in room to left of entrance with deep flanking openings. Late C18 dado panelling to this room and entrance hall. Early C19 staircase. First floor rooms have early C19 fireplaces with cast iron fire baskets. All ground floor rooms have chamfered ceiling beams. Dining room in rear wing has open fireplace with bressumer. The rear wing is probably late C17.
