Description

House. Probably late C17. Brick with ashlar dressings and plinth, and slate roof. Originally 3-unit plan. 2 storeys with cellar and attic. 8-window range of casements with moulded stone architraves and keyblocks. The ground floor has been refronted in late C18 with 3 casements under gauged-brick arches. C20 door to right of centre has moulded stone architrave with keyblock. Flat ashlar string course between floors and rusticated quoins. Ashlar gable parapets and kneelers and brick stacks at ridge and end. Rear similar but with C20 extension. Interior: Room to left of entrance has open fireplace with bressumer. Room to right of entrance has C18 fielded panelling and matching fireplace surround. Staircase, probably early C18, has dogleg quarter turn and turned balusters.
