Description

Packhorse and footbridge. Circa late C18 or early C19. Dressed limestone with dressed arch rings and coursed rubble parapet with chamfered coping; some of coping stones recast in concrete. Humpback bridge with 2 segmental arches and footway of about 1 metre wide with surface of stone setts. The parapets were either added later or rebuilt. Small engineering brick cutwater added on west upstream side. The bridge spans a stream which was probably the original river course of The River Nene before a new cut was made immediately to the south.
