Description
Farmhouse. Dated 1741 with early C19 additions and alterations. Coursed squared ironstone, C20 plain-tile roof, stone end stack to left, brick stack to right on stone base. 2-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic; 2-windows range. Central blocked door. 16-pane sash windows to ground and 1st floors with wood lintels. Plinth, two small square cellar windows to left of centre with stone lintels, quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers. Datestone in left gable end inscribed P/IC/1741. Lower 2-storey wing to right, with re-set 3-light blocked ogee-moulded stone mullion window with hood mould to 1st floor, gable end. Single-storey early C19 addition to rear housing staircase with 6-panel door with overlight and segmental-arched head and large pointed-arched window lighting staircase. Attached wall, to left, of coursed squared ironstone, probably mid C18, with plank door to garden in chamfered wood surround and with wood lintel. Wall has stone coping and is swept up either end. Interior: spine beams, boxed to ground floor, with ogee stops upstairs. Stained and painted glass to staircase window. Stone cellar and collar-truss roof.
