Description

House. Late C17, remodelled c.1970. Coursed limestone and ironstone rubble, artificial stone slate roof, stone stacks. 2 storeys and attic, 4 bays. Right bay lower and separately roofed, formed original service wing. C20 stone porch across 2 right bays has doorway with wood lintel and 6-panel door. Re-used C17 two-light stone mullioned window to right. Original entrance was right of centre, now filled by 4-light stone mullioned window, part re-used C17 work. 2-light stone mullioned window in left bay. All ground floor windows have continuous stone hood. First floor windows are all of 2-lights with stone mullions in moulded frames without hoods. Gabled half dormer second bay from left with stone mullion and square hood. Coped gable ends with kneelers. Interior not inspected but said to have been remodelled c.1970 when original arrangement of rooms altered and C17 staircase removed. (R.B.
