Description

House. Mid C18 with later alterations. Ironstone ashlar with some rubble to lower courses. Artificial stone slate roof, brick ridge and end stacks. Lobby-entry 5-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic; 6-window range. 4-panel part-glazed door with reeded pilaster surround and flat hood. 2 ground and first floor windows to left have C20 windows imitating sashes and have moulded stone sills, surrounds and lintels with keyblocks. Datestone inscribed W/R.I.1769 between first floor windows. Other further 2- and 3-light casements with timber lintels. Blocked window above door. Other blocked windows. Moulded stone eaves, stone coped gable with kneelers to left gable, and quoins to left end angle. Long outbuilding range projects to rear with pigeon loft and coped stone gable with kneelers at end. Interior: stop chamfered beams. One room on ground floor at left end of house has mid C18 fielded panelling to chimney piece.
