Description

A fine medieval bridge with five pointed arches. These have double arch-rings, both chamfered. Parapets are of later date, bridge widened with segmental arches on upstream side. Total span 27yds (24.5m), width 12ft (3.6m). Inscription “TS 1793” suggests date of widening. On each side of bridge over one of the arches is a carved head projecting from masonry. No historical information, bridge probably C14. {AM7}
