Description

House. Mid/late C17, altered C19. Coursed limestone rubble with ironstone dressings, old plain-tile roof, stone end stack to left, brick end stack to right. T-plan. 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range. Plank door to left of centre with wood lintel, 2-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion window to ground floor centre, otherwise 3-light casement windows to ground and first floors with wood lintels and ironstone jambs of original stone mullion windows. Chamfered plinth, ironstone hollow-chamfered string course, limestone quoins and ironstone-coped gables with kneelers. 2-storey-and-attic wing to rear is probably of same date as main range or slightly later. 2-storey stone stair turret to rear left corner. Interior: ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams. Large open fireplace with cambered stop-moulded bressumer. Stone corner fireplace in rear wing with Tudor-arched head, similar smaller fireplace upstairs. Collar-truss roof.
