Description

Former hunting lodge. Mid C18. Coursed squared limestone, whitewashed, partly timber framed and rendered, hipped slate roofs, brick lateral stacks. Tripartite composition, 3-unit plan. 2-storey wings flanking centre of 2 storeys and attic. One-window range. Central part-glazed door in moulded wood surround in timber lintel within timber porch. 3-light casement windows with segmental head to first floor above. 2-light leaded casement window to attic. Timber canted bay window to rear and single-storey kitchen extension. Interior has blocked open fireplace with bread oven and original roofs. Within the former area of the Whittlewood Forest and said to have been associated with deer-hunting.
