Description
Two houses. Mid C18 altered in C19. Brick and lias rendered, with C20 plain-tile roof. Each originally 2-unit plan. 2 storeys. Together comprising a 5-window range of casements with leaded lights. Projecting cross wing to right has C19 canted bay windows. No. 6 has 4-panelled door with hood to left of centre; entrance to No. 5 on right side. Hipped roof with tall ornamental brick stacks at ridge and end. Interior not inspected but No. 6 noted as having chamfered ceiling beams and exposed bressumer to open fireplace in room to left of entrance. These cottages were probably altered by Thornby Hall Estates in C19.
