Description

House now 2 dwellings. Datestone 1637, altered C18 and C19. Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roof. Originally 2-unit plan with central carriage arch. 2 storeys with attic. Irregular 4-window range. C17 five-light, 2-storey, canted bay window, to left, has ovolo moulded stone mullions. Gable above with moulded kneelers. Large C19 casements under wood lintels. Central gabled eaves dormer, to attic, has C19 casement and C17 pargetted gable with inscribed date. C20 door, under flat stone arch, to No. 15, to right of centre. Open cross passage, to left, under wood lintel was originally a carriage arch now modified. Stone stacks at ridge and end. Bay to right reconstructed C19. Interior not inspected but noted as having some C17 plasterwork to first floor room. (RCHM: An Inventory of Architectural Monuments in North Northamptonshire: p34)
