Description
House, formerly farmhouse. Early-mid C17, altered C19 and C20. Coursed ironstone rubble banded with limestone, slate roof, brick end and ridge stacks. 3-unit through-passage plan. 2-storey, 3-window range. C20 door to right of centre with wood lintel, and C20 casement windows to ground and 1st floors of one, two, three and four lights, all with wood lintels. 2-light basement window to left with double-chamfered stone surround, quoins and stone-coped gable with kneelers to right. Roof raised C19 in coursed squared ironstone and limestone. Interior has ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams and some original ogee-stop-chamfered joists. Open fireplace with ogee-stop-chamfered bressumer, carved with stylized plant to centre. Wall painting with inscription from Psalm 143: "Teach mee to doe thy will for thou art/God: let thy good spirit leade me into/Righteousness". Fitted cupboard with round-arched head, shaped shelves, Greek key frieze and dentilled cornice. Stone cellar.
