Description
Stone built barn, high in proportion to breadth, 9 bays long (77ft), buttressed, 2 flat-headed wagon-doors on each side, triangular-headed vents, “staggered” queen-post roof. Often ascribed to the C15, it really appears to be C16 or even early C17, perhaps using old materials. Stands at the head of Burystead Place, near the site of a grange of Crowland Abbey. Now used as garage for adjoining farm, quite well cared for. {AM7}
