Description

House. C17 altered C19. Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston and Welsh slate roofs. 2-unit plan. 2 storeys. 2-window range of C19 casements. Those at first floor are set directly under the eaves. Ground floor window, to left, is under stone lintel, with keyblock, and window to right is under wood lintel. Central, C19 plank door, is also under stone lintel with keyblocks. Ashlar stack to right and brick stack to left end. Left gable probably rebuilt. Rear elevation has 2- and 3-light stone mullion windows and a C19 lean-to with Welsh slate roof. Interior not inspected but porbably has remains of open fireplace. Used as 2 dwellings during C19 by Burghley House estate. (RCHM: An Inventory of Architectural Monuments in North Northamptonshire: p47)
