Description

House. C.1828 incorporating parts of earlier building. Squared coursed limestone with ashlar dressings and Welsh and Collyweston slate roofs. Double depth plan. 2 storeys. Main front is a 3-window range. Central rusticated ashlar porch with ribbed and painted columns, plain entablature, moulded cornice and flat roof. Double, panelled, doors with rectangular fanlight. Unhorned sash windows, with glazing bars, reducing at first floor. All under gauged stone heads with ashlar dressings and decorative wooden blind boxes. Hipped roof with wide eaves. Lateral ashlar stacks. Service wing to rear is probably earlier, with a Collyweston slate roof. Terrace attached to main front has a double flight of steps and C19 cast iron railings. A service access leading to the rear, passes under the terrace. Interior not inspected but noted as having some early C19 fittings.
