Description
House, formerly farmhouse. Early C18, altered C19 and C20. Coursed limestone rubble, slate roof, brick ridge and end stacks, that to left on stone base. 3-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic; 7-window range. Central gabled stair-turret rising wall above eaves with 3-light casement window to ground floor at low level, 1-light mezzanine and attic windows, all with stone lintels and key blocks, and upright keyed oval window to gable; worn datestone below gable window. C20 4-panel door to right of stair-turret with stone lintel and keyblock in verandah extending over windows to right. 2-light casement windows to left and right of stair turret to ground and 1st floors, flanked by 1-light windows, all with stone lintels and keyblocks. 2-light chamfered stone mullion cellar window to left of centre, alternating limestone and ironstone quoins, bands of ironstone at sill and lintel levels and ironstone-coped gables with kneelers. Interior: chamfered and ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams and two open fireplaces with chamfered bressumers. Stone cellar. Collar truss roof. Single storey extension to the right.
