Description
House, formerly bakehouse and public house. Early C18. Coursed squared limestone, slate roof, brick ridge and end stacks on stone bases. 3-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic; 5-window range. Main front to south has C20 door in C20 gabled stone porch to right of centre, 2-light C20 aluminium windows throughout, except for similar 3-light casement to far right, all with timber lintels, some stop-chamfered, ground and first floor windows to far left blocked. Quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers. Interior has ogee stop-chamfered spine beam and upper room with moulded chair rail, fitted corner cupboard with shaped shelves, round-arched head, semi-domed inside, and early C18 grey marble corner chimneypiece with fluted keystone. Formerly a bakehouse and the Royal Oak Public House.
