Description
Stable block. Early C19, altered C20. Coursed squared limestone, hipped C20 ridged tiled roof. Rectangular. 2-storey, 4-bay range. Attached to office wing of Little Houghton House (q.v.), projecting at right angles and facing coach house (q.v.) across stable yard. Stable doors to left and right of centre and to far left and far right, all with overlights and wood lintels. Round-headed doorway between doors to far left and left of centre. Pair of 12-pane sash windows to far left, with wood lintels and loft doors to left of centre and far right, with wood lintels. All lintels are diamond stop-chamfered. Interior not inspected. Attached stone-coped wall projects forward from right corner; of ironstone ashlar with pier beside corner with moulded stone cap and taller panelled gatepier at other end with similar cap. Pier frames entrance to stable yard.
