Description

A small excavation undertaken at weekends in 1996-7 which lay 35m west and 10m north of buildings excavated between 1990 and 1995. The building exposed during this excavation is known as Building V. [Data from NRHE record: Exploratory work revealed rectangular limestone foundations measuring 4.8x4.5m. Tentatively interpreted by the excavator as the remains of a small watch-tower. Three possible future repositories for the site archive: Peterborough Museum; Northants Record Office or Oundle Museum (if functioning). Finds at present with excavator.
