Description

{1} The watching brief found that recent ploughing had heavily truncated possible archaeological features which cut into alluvium and limestone. Only very sparse activity was found including an area of burning containing some charcoal, bone fragments and a sherd of late Neolithic pottery as well as an undated ditch. Three small stone spreads of limestone were probably of natural origin brought in with the regular silting of the floodplain.
