Description

{1} The evidence recovered during the watching brief suggests that much of the site had been cleared and partly levelled in the later nineteenth century. The irregular earthworks which were ntoed seem to be partly a result of this cutting into the earlier topography and partly due to subsequent dumpting. The only substantial feature, wall 9, was almost certainly demolished during the second half of the nineteenth century and is probably the outer or western wall of the range of farmbuildings mapped in 1850
