Description

{1} A watching brief was undertaken on the site of a distribution centre. The watching brief monitored the topsoil strip of the site. The work followed a major programme of excavation on an extensive Iron Age settlement undertaken in 1997 and 1998 as part of the development of the Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal. The watching brief recorded the continuation of archaeological features dating to the Iron Age beyond the limits of the previous excavation in Zone E, while medieval or later landscape features were noted elsewhere.
