Description

{1} The strategy adopted was to excavate a trench across the area that had the arefact pit in one section and undisturbed stratigraphy in the other. The section was also extended sufficiently to link into the wall of the bathhouse. The trench was excavated by hand to a total depth of 0.95m, this below the water table, which is significantly higher during the winter months.
