Description

The evaluation will examine an area of managed woodland proposed for the extension of Northamptonshire County Golf Club. The site is located within the former Harlestone and Dallington Heaths. A woodland survey was carried out (by David Hall) and 6 trial trenches excavated. The wood appeared to have formed on an overgrown area of medieval open field. Trenching revealed no finds or features of archaeological significance.
