Description

{3} Trial-trenching was undertaken in late May and June 1989. The evaluation located the presence of a Middle Iron Age settlement apparently focussed on the centre of the field. Extending out from the settlement were a series of field-system ditches, which are suspected to continue into fields adjoining the study area. The evaluation also confirmed that the defended enclosure, partially excavated to the south, extended into the development site.
