Description

{1} A watching brief was maintained during the excavation of test pits and trenches as well as the removal of topsoil prior to the reinstatement of the original drive and the planting of a conifer hedge to the north of the stable block. Six short sections of undated limestone wall were uncovered and a possible yard surface, probably dating to the 13th-15th century. It was suggested that the walls are of a similar date.
