Description

{1} A series of rescue excavations were carried out in 1970-71 (and between 1975-78). The work was undertaken on behalf of the DoE in advance of a threat from ironstone quarrying, which by 1970 had almost encroached opon the site of a villa-dwelling first recorded in the C18th.
